Dr. Jordan Buchko  MD, FRCSC

Orthopaedic Surgeon - Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine

About Dr. Buchko - Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Buchko was born & raised in Regina. After graduating from Michael A. Riffel High School in 2001, he attended the University of Regina where he completed his Bachelor of Science (Biology) degree in 2005.  He then traveled to Saskatoon where he spent the next 9 years; in 2009 he earned his Medical Degree from the University of Saskatchewan and in 2014 completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency, also at the University of Saskatchewan.  Vancouver was the next stop, where he completed a one-year Reconstructive Arthroscopy fellowship at the University of British Columbia.  However he always had a strong desire to move back home, to be back on the prairies, in the land where people bleed green, close to family and friends, to serve the people in the community in which he grew up. That desire became reality when he was fortunate to accept a position with the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region. He began his medical practice in September 2015. He is a member of the active medical staff of the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region. He is fully certified as a specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Buchko has a special interest in arthroscopy and sports medicine.  He has expertise in the assessment and treatment of non-arthritic hip pathology including hip arthroscopy.  His elective surgical practice consists of:

  • Shoulder: arthroscopy & reconstruction, including instability, impingement, rotator cuff, labrum, biceps, AC joint
  • Shoulder replacements: hemi, total, and reverse
  • Elbow: arthroscopy, tendon repair (including distal biceps), ligament reconstruction, capsular releases
  • Hip: arthroscopy, including treatment of labral tears, femoroacetabular impingement, & other non-arthritic hip pathologies
